About Our Company

Murphy Electrical is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Rowan and Elise Murphy.

At Murphy Electrical we pride ourselves on prompt, friendly service and quality workmanship. With an emphasis on customer consultation we are committed to matching the right work and products to fit your individual needs.

We carry out all general electrical and data work on homes and commercial premises, and specialise in home renovations and rewiring. Our team have particular expertise in home, commercial and garden lighting as well as commercial and light industrial 3-phase installations.

Community Support

Based in rural Papakura, we have been keeping things humming in the areas of South Auckland, Manukau, East Auckland, Papakura and Franklin since 2007. We are proud to work and run a business in the area we live and raise our family. It is our privilege to be able to support our local and wider community through the following organisations and events:

Meet The Team

Rowan Murphy

Rowan is a New Zealand-registered and licensed electrician who has a broad experience within the electrical trade. Along with his electrical trade qualification, he has gained a certificate in Lighting Design from Massey University. He has a particular interest in lighting systems and a passion for helping homeowners optimise their lighting plans.

As a busy father of 4, Rowan has less time for the surfing he used to indulge in. These days, he can be found surfing the internet instead, searching for that elusive perfect homebrew recipe.

Elise Murphy

The other half of Murphy Electrical, Elise can be found managing the office and operating the phone. Along with the accounts and invoicing, Elise takes care of strategy, marketing and HR.

When she is not at the computer or taking care of the smallest Murphys, Elise can be found living the good life with her chickens, sheep, and optimistic vegetable garden.

Saua Leaupepe

Saua joined the team in April 2014 after completing his pre-apprenticeship course at MIT. He is working towards his National Certificate in Electrical Engineering, after which he’ll be able to register as an electrician. Saua balances his academic training with the labouring and assistant electrician work he carries out on site.

A keen sportsman, you can still see Saua in action on the rugby fields of Auckland.

At Murphy Electrical we pride ourselves on prompt friendly service and quality workmanship. With an emphasis on customer consultation we are committed to matching the right work and products to fit your individual needs. Contact us today for a free quote and consultation.
